Dr. Friend was born in the mountains of Western Maryland, near Deep Creek Lake. Her mom, who is a hygienist, read dental books to her as "bedtime stories". Dr. Friend's early introduction to dentistry soon became a lifelong passion.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Frostburg State University in 2013 and became a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2017.
